Sunny Seats Pick Me Up

Sunny Seats is what happens before the shows. At Sunny Seats, kids and their families can take pictures with Elmo and other Sesame Street friends, play hop scotch and color. One of the friends that  gets to go out with Elmo is Grover. I have learned that he is one happy guy when he gets to see the kids faces. Grover wanted me to share some stories with you.

At one Sunny Seats in Canada (Winnipeg) there was a Down's Syndrome boy and his mother in line. When he got up to see Elmo and Grover his face lit up! He was so trilled that his arms were flailing and a huge smile was spread across his face! He kept giving Elmo kisses and laughing at the feel of the fur against him. Grover got a high five and a hug from this special guy. But that wasn't all, Grover also got a warm heart! As Grover danced that day he told me that he danced for that boy and throughout the performance would look out and see his little buddy in the front row on house right.

Another special day Grover was taking pictures with some little boys when all of a sudden a VERY BIG KID decided to sit on Grover. The father of the boys was so excited to meet Grover that he had to get in on the action as well!

One little boy attached himself to Grover's leg and with wide eyes looked up and said, "Grover, I'll see you on stage!" Well Grover said that it brought tears to his eyes for he knew right then and there that he meant alot to these children in Winnipeg, Canada!

Sunny Seats in Rochester, MN brought back fond memories of my travels with my Grandparents and parents. Growing up I would go on multi generation trips. Grover knew this about me so he made sure to tell me that during Sunny Seats there was a 4 generation women of the family trip. (Daughter, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother). Grover got pictures will all of them and the grandma even said that he was her favorite when she watched Sesame Street!

Sunny Seats definitely bring Sunny Days to performers!!!!
