Welcome to 2020!!!
So what have you learning in the last decade? Seems to me that everyone on social media is asking themselves what they have learned or wanting to see how much they have grown in 10 years. Well I think everyday everyone grows a little and every year people have more memories and experiences to reflex upon.
So what did I learn in the last decade?
Well I learned that girl drama continues to happen way past high school and I don't think it ever ends if you ask me. I think there will always be people who judge and one needs to find who their devoted cheerleaders are in their life. The first devoted cheerleader is yourself. YOU are the only person who will 100% always look out for yourself. As for others well your mom and dad might be great supporters, maybe a loved one or maybe a teacher. We all have someone in our court. For me I have a very supportive mother and father. They have supported me with everything I do in my life and I owe them the world! I also have a very supportive partner and I have friends. But all this support will go up and down and you might not always feel it. But just believe because everyone has something in their court.
Happiness comes in many forms. This is another thing I have learned in the past decade. With stress my happiness I feel has decreased but in essence it has just changed. Happiness for me now is having the sunshine through my windows in the morning or driving while listening to a great jam. I don't need things, trips or great gathering of people. I don't need to be rolling over laughing to say I am happy. So if you are like me and have thought 'Where has my happiness gone?', don't worry cause it hasn't. Just look for it in other places than it used to be.
Money is a huge stress on everyone and over the decade that has just increased. I have gone from graduating high school to graduation college to now almost a new decade of age for myself. Money stress has added but you know what, Money truly doesn't buy everything. I do feel you need to work hard and you need to have enough money to live a comfortable life but there is always money for a hard working individual. Look at your skills and market yourself. Do you teach? Do you like to paint? Take yoga classes? We all have skills that another individual is needing or wanting to learn.
I have learned how BIG the world is in the last 10 years. I got on National Tour with Sesame Street Live in 2013 and traveled all over the US and Canada performing 13 shows a week. I can now say that I have seen 46 states in the United States of America and 9 Provences of Canada. From National Tour I went onto performing on a cruise line. Princess Cruises hired me in Jan 2015 and I just reached my 5 year anniversary with them. I have now seen 65 countries, 6 continents and roughly 26% of the world. What I have learned from all this exploring is that I want to share it with you. I have decided that for 2020 I am going to pick a place a week and write a blog about it. Will you come traveling with me? I want to show people the world. I want kids to grow up knowing there is more out their and other countries and cultures to learn about. We need to start respecting one another and learning from one another. There is no better way to do this than to start learning from other countries and starting build stronger bonds. On the playground in school children are taught to have teamwork and then in middle school with team projects the lesson is reiterated again and again. So why does this lesson stop when we get into our career jobs. When is it ok to let competition occur? So I hope you will come every week to learn about a new place and travel with me!
To wrap this up we have all learned something in the last decade. That is great! Today you are going to learn something more as well. I wish you the best of luck as the new decade comes and I hope you continue to share your learnings with me. Happy 2020!
