City of Presidents- Rapid City, South Dakota

Lets start off by saying that I have found SNOW!

In Rapid City, South Dakota I got to meet many presidents. Sure they were statues but they knew how to work the corners of the downtown area. There is a statue for each president, one on every corner, of the downtown. Also downtown is a cute brewing company that has renovated an old fire house into a restaurant. The cast and crew got to spend a splended evening sitting by the fire and eating amazing food. I had steak, mashed potatoes and veggies!!! Perfect for South Dakota chilly night.

While in Rapid City the cast also got to see Mount Rushmore and Crazy Horse. While at Mount Rushmore I gave the cast a history lesson of the information I had learned from the museum. The project started in 1925 and it was supposed to take 5 years but ended up taking 14 years and 400 workers. There were 9 different models until the model of the current monument was decided upon. The four presidents chosen were to represent foundation, growth, preservation and development of the United States of America. While walking the presidential trail we got to see a Rocky Mountain Goat!

One evening a few of us took a two mile hike up to an outlook/dinosaur park. During our hike we spotted two mule deer. Did you know that triceratops is the state fossil for South Dakota?
